Fiona made a doll as part of a school project...and I just couldn't be more proud. She found an old skirt of mine and decided to make her doll from it. The body is from the body of the skirt which was like a lightweight muslin. She cut the body out, stitched it together and then she tea-dyed it (twice) because it wasn't as dark as she wanted it to be. She added the features, stuffed it and whipped stitched it closed. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of her itty bitty stitches at the closure. Then she stitched on the hair and trimmed it to the length she wanted. From the trim of the skirt she fashioned a dress. And then? The name of course. Introducing Isabel. <3
